Turbo Discs are now available for 3m-9m models of the HE-VA top strigle straw harrow, first introduced at LAMMA 2024. HE-VA says these additions are intended to enhance soil movement and contribute to weed germination, supporting efforts to address persistent weeds such as blackgrass and ryegrass by creating a stale seedbed.
The Turbo Discs, paired with the harrow’s five rows of heavy-duty tines, are designed to spread debris and form a micro-tilth, facilitating weed growth, the company says. The harrow is also used to disturb slug eggs, with the aim of reducing slug populations by exposing eggs to sunlight.
Power requirements for the Top Strigle vary based on model size and working conditions. A 6m harrow, for example, is recommended to be paired with a tractor in the 155-180hp range to ensure optimal performance.
The Grass Combi multi-purpose harrow, also introduced at LAMMA, now includes an option for the Stocks AG Turbo Jet 10 Applicator. This setup supports seeding operations, including cover crops and SFI seed mixes. With its combination of levelling boards, heavy-duty spring tines, and the capability to tow rolls, the Grass Combi harrow offers potential for pasture maintenance and crop establishment.
The Turbo Jet 10 is available with a 240L or 400L hopper and features up to 20 spreader-plate outlets, enabling adjustments to suit different seed application rates. It also offers a high-capacity metering block option for larger seeds. Spreader plate outlets can be configured for application in bands or rows, depending on the requirements.
