For almost 30 years, CLAAS has been shaping the global forage harvest with its efficient, reliable and durable DISCO disc mowers. Innovations such as MAX CUT, ACTIVE FLOAT, SAFETY LINK and vector folding have enabled a steady increase in area output while improving forage quality and reducing energy input. This unique performance, coupled with industry-leading reliability and durability, are the basis for an outstanding customer satisfaction rate of 98 per cent today. CLAAS is now renewing its two widest conditioner mowers, the DISCO 1100 C BUSINESS and DISCO 1100 RC BUSINESS, enabling a further increase in productivity thanks to reinforced arms and double roller drive for the RC versions with roller conditioner.
Reinforced telescopic arm with pre-tensioned sliding elements and ACTIVE FLOAT
The two new DISCO 1100 C BUSINESS and 1100 RC BUSINESS combine a large working width with maximum choice in terms of conditioning intensity and compact transport dimensions in a unique way. The telescopic arms of the large-scale mowers, which are up to 10.70 metres wide, have not only been reinforced, but also fitted with additional spring-loaded sliding elements. This ensures a constant contact pressure at all times, which has a noticeably positive effect on driving comfort.
The maximum working width of 10.70 m can be reduced hydraulically and steplessly to 9.60 m, whereby both arms can be adjusted independently of each other or synchronised to ensure optimum overlap in tight corners or when working on side slopes. Despite the two 3.80 m wide mowing units, the mower remains under 4.0 m in height during road transport.
The DISCO 1100 C BUSINESS and 1100 RC BUSINESS are equipped as standard with the ACTIVE FLOAT hydropneumatic ground pressure control, which can be individually adjusted for each arm. It enables the mower bar pressure to be continuously adjusted during operation. With the optional slope control, the mower automatically adjusts the ground pressure and overlap to the front mower depending on the side slope. The newly designed HD swivel joint on the headstock ensures significantly better accessibility when attaching and removing the mower.
The DISCO 1100 BUSINESS offers a working width of up to 10.70 m and is optionally available with a steel tine conditioner or polyurethane roller conditioner.
Durable and efficient: Bolted MAX CUT mower bar with wave shape
Launched in 2015, the MAX CUT mower bar still stands for an uncompromisingly clean cutting pattern, clean forage and maximum sward protection with high cutting power and the best possible efficiency thanks to a high cutting frequency at a reduced PTO shaft speed (850 rpm). The innovative mower bar also stands for maximum reliability and a long service life – thanks to its bolted, torsion-resistant construction made of fine-grain steel with the one-piece moulded bar trough, but also thanks to the first-class manufacturing quality at the Bad Saulgau production site. The MAXI CUT mower bar also owes its reliability and durability to the wear protection rivets on the cutter discs, a tungsten carbide coating on the undersides of the blade holders, which is familiar from professional tillage equipment, and the SAFETY LINK safety module. What’s more, thanks to the arm’s angled pivot point, the mower bar not only swings backwards in the event of contact with an obstacle, but also upwards at the same time and is thus swivelled safely out of the danger zone.
Thanks to the special wave shape of the mower bed, which is stamped from a single piece, the large drive pinions of the mower discs are mounted particularly far forward and thus enable the largest possible overlap, with several teeth meshing at two points each. Even disc spacing also ensures a uniform cutting pattern.
All MAX CUTs are also equipped with lifetime lubrication for low maintenance and reduced maintenance costs. Practical details such as the portable blade box and the red-painted disc covers with identically coloured blades according to the direction of rotation make it much easier to change blades.
The bolted mower bar is extremely resilient and torsion-resistant. Various wear protection elements ensure lengthy replacement intervals, while the blade box and red-coloured blades for counter-clockwise rotating cutter discs make knife changes much easier.

Powerful conditioners for a wide range of conditions of use
The DISCO 1100 BUSINESS is available with two different conditioners to speed up the drying process:
- DISCO 1100 RC BUSINESS with a polyurethane roller conditioner for gentle conditioning with V-shaped interlocking polyurethane rollers – ideal for leafy crops such as lucerne. The roller spacing can be conveniently adjusted using the ratchet spanner supplied. The standard double drive with scissor gearbox ensures an even crop flow, even when harvesting large quantities.
- DISCO 1100 C BUSINESS with tine conditioner and spirally arranged Y-steel tines for powerful grass harvesting. The conditioner intensity can be flexibly adjusted for maximum efficiency, and the tines can avoid stones thanks to their elastic mount to prevent tine breakage or damage to the drives.
Robust steel swathing plates and a Hardox conditioner bonnet ensure maximum stability and durability for all conditioner variants, even under extreme conditions of use. All DISCO 1100 C / RC BUSINESS models are also equipped as standard with variably adjustable swathing plates for precise swath shaping. The DISCO RC models with roller conditioner also have two telescopic additional swath plates – ideal for particularly narrow swaths, which prevent the crop from fading too much in lucerne, for example. Swath widths down to 0.90 m can be achieved with these additional swath plates. The setting can be made flexibly and without tools in just a few simple steps.
The RC models with roller conditioner have a double roller drive with scissor gear as standard. Narrow swaths down to 0.90 m in width are possible with the telescopic additional swath plates.
Convenient and automated: BUSINESS operation with ISOBUS and load-sensing
BUSINESS operation with load-sensing and ISOBUS enables convenient and semi-automated interaction with modern tractors and optimum utilisation of all machine functions. Setting and operation, for example of the programmable headland management, is largely carried out via the ISOBUS terminal – regardless of whether the mower’s being controlled using CEBIS, CEMIS 700 or CEMIS 1200. In addition, freely assignable F keys allow individual customisation of the controls – for example for the telescopic arms, individual lifting of the arms or regulation of the ACTIVE FLOAT ground pressure during travel.
A slope control system with inclination sensor can be supplied as an option to conveniently adjust and mirror the ACTIVE FLOAT support pressure control and arm positions to counteract slope drift and striping at the touch of a button.
From the configurator to ordering spare parts: DISCO mowers in CLAAS connect
All DISCO mowers from CLAAS are stored directly in the customer’s CLAAS connect when the machine is handed over. This gives the customer continuous mobile access to digital operating manuals, the lubricant guide and the CLAAS Parts Shop for ordering original CLAAS lubricants and wear parts. This means that our customers have everything in one place – no more misplaced operating manuals and tedious searches for suitable lubricants and spare parts. This service is free of charge for DISCO customers in CLAAS connect and is available in both the web version and the app.
CLAAS connect also offers comprehensive machine and farm management functions that also support forage harvesting. Supported by satellite maps, vegetation monitoring is helpful for forage harvest planning, for example, and harvest maps in the GeoCentre can show the success of the forage harvest.
