McConnel will gave UK customers a first look at a range of new products and Power Arm enhancements at LAMMA 2019 where the machines will make their official show debut. The products include an all-new Telescopic, Variable Forward Reach arm-set (Tele-VFR), a new REVOLUTION power arm control system, new Power Arm cutterbars, sawheads and range of flail mowers. The company will also showcase its new ROBOCUT range of remote controlled mowers to the agricultural sector for the first time.
Improved arm geometry, increased strength and additional head angling are the key benefits of McConnel’s new 6.5m Tele-VFR arm-set. The new design increases reach in all direction whilst also improving close-in cutting performance. The use of larger box section, Strenx steel and wider 60mm pivot pins further enhance the strength and durability of the arm. The head angling linkage has also seen significant change with the repositioning of the angling ram. The new layout results in a compact design, and neat protected hose routing, whilst providing the attachment with greater torque and consistent angle rotation.
McConnel’s flagship control system, REVOLUTION, has received a major overhaul for 2019 with a new compact digital display, new operating system, soft-touch armrest and additional new features such as the ability to quickly change between pre-set hedgecutting to verge mowing setting at a touch of a button. For the first time, REVOLUTION control can now also be specified with a new mini joystick control for true fingertip control.
The new McConnel ROBOCUT range transforms remote controlled slope mowing. Three models, the RC56, RC75 and RC28 surpass all expectations with an exciting new ground up design and the very latest technological advancements and refinement. The new models boast more power, an advanced feature set and a revolutionary control system for greater output, safety and control. New engine choices have been developed in a partnership with Hatz GmbH specifically for working on steep gradients of 55 degrees, with increased power and market leading power-to-weight ratio. A new common chassis design provides a lower centre of gravity and perfect 50/50 weight distribution for maximum stability and control in challenging terrain. Fully integrated, dual roll-over protection bars, quick access lifting points and dedicated accessory mounting points also come as standard. The introduction of fully enclosed body panels protects the power unit from damage when working in harsh environments, whilst also keeping out grass and debris. The stylised design also incorporates gull-wing style side panels that provide quick and easy access to the engine bay. For the first time GPS Autosteer is available, developed in conjunction with Trimble, a world leader in a wide range of positioning technologies. GPS Autosteer enables operators to control precise cutting to an accuracy of 25mm from up to 150 metres away, eliminating wasteful overlap with each pass and dramatically increasing productivity. Also showcased at LAMMA 2019 the new range of in-house designed and built flail mowers and Power Arm attachments, including sawheads and cutter bars, complete the McConnel line-up.
