Fendt’s tracked tractors are joining the 511 hp to 673 hp power range with the new Fendt 1100 Vario MT series. This gives the Fendt 1167 Vario MT the highest horsepower of any tracked tractor with a stepless transmission on the market. There are new technologies to increase overall efficiency, such as the pivoting drawbar and the pivoting rear power lift, the completely newly developed Smart Ride+ suspension design along with all the familiar Fendt controls.
With four models, the Fendt 1100 Vario MT series expands its power range from 511 hp to 673 hp (according to ECE R 120); Fendt tractors, including Fendt tracked tractors, are now offered with an output ranging from 70 hp to 673 hp.
Fendt VarioDrive – powertrain for maximum traction performance and efficient fuel consumption
The gearbox is similar to wheel tractors in how it works. The only difference is you have both hydromotors acting on the rear axle, in the absence of a front axle. The innovative Fendt VarioDrive powertrain and the Fendt iD low-speed concept are already familiar from the large tractors Fendt 1000 Vario and Fendt 900 Vario, as well as the Fendt 900 Vario MT tracked tractor. The Fendt iD low-speed concept works particularly effectively with the VarioDrive powertrain and is designed for high power reserves. This allows the engine to operate at a fuel-saving 1,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 3,100 Nm. The two hydromotors of the hydrostatic mechanical powertrain in the Fendt 1100 Vario MT swivel independently of each other. The Hydro-Motor 2 is also automatically completely disconnected at high speeds when unladen, which eliminates drag losses. The hydraulic fan cools the engine perfectly at any engine speed. This significantly increases efficiency.
The Fendt 1151 Vario MT, Fendt 1156 Vario MT and Fendt 1162 MT models feature a MAN 6-cylinder engine with a cubic capacity of 15.2 litres. The Fendt 1167 Vario MT holds a MAN 6-cylinder engine with a cubic capacity of 16.2 litres and a max. power output of 673 hp. This engine’s size suits the high power class of the high-end model of the Fendt 1100 Vario MT series. The top end model Fendt 1167 Vario MT is specially designed for applications with demanding auxiliary consumers, such as the high hydraulic output of an air seeder. The larger engine ensures operational safety and performance for any task.
Both engines meet the European Stage V emissions standard with exhaust gas recirculation, diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), diesel particulate filter (DPF) and familiar SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology. The service interval has also been extended to 500 hours.
The right weight for any application
Whether heavy tillage, early seedbed preparation or sowing: a wide range of ballast options on the Fendt 1100 Vario MT tracked tractor allows for any kind of work. The tracked tractor offers ballasting options on the rear drive wheels, the front guide wheel, with added weights on the sides of the tracked drive and at the front thanks to a variety of front weights.
With light ballasting and higher speeds on the field, the Fendt tracked tractor can pull a precision seeder. Use heavy ballasting and low speeds for heavy-duty soil cultivation.
Longer service life and extra suspension
The SmartRide suspension, known from the Fendt 900 Vario MT, has been adapted and added to this power segment for the Fendt 1100 Vario MT. SmartRide+ includes two controllable hydraulic cylinders. These balance out weight shifts during the work process, giving the Fendt 1100 Vario MT maximum traction capacity on the field without any interruption in traction power. The hydraulic cylinders can also be controlled directly from the cab to lower the vehicle at the front. This allows the front weight to be easily attached and detached without the need for additional devices.
As part of the tracked drive, the four central track rollers, Fendt Longlife rollers, are suspended in such a way that they flexibly follow the ground contours to maximise traction. Fendt Longlife track rollers feature a ring made with a patented polyurethane connection. It is more resistant to heat and tearing and increases the service life of the tracks. The Fendt Longlife roller rings are also easy to replace, reducing maintenance work and, with that, costs.
Fendt high-performance hydraulics – demand-led and powerful
Similar to the Fendt 900 Vario MT, the new Fendt 1100 Vario MT also features a high-performance hydraulics system with two optional load sensing pumps (2 x 220 l/min). These can supply two separate circuits and reach their maximum flow rate at 1,700 rpm. As an example, the blower of an air seeder requires a consistently low oil pressure and a consistently high oil flow. But the tracked tractor / air seeder hookup requires a high oil pressure with a low oil flow when turning at the headland. With two LS pumps, the system can always provide the right oil pressure and the right amount of oil thanks to the demand-led control system. This reduces throttle losses and increases efficiency.
Pivoting swinging drawbar or pivoting rear power lift for more directional stability
A special highlight of this machine is the exclusive pivoting swinging drawbar and pivoting rear power lift. The pivoting swinging drawbar can be swivelled 28° in either direction, while the pivoting rear power lift with three-point suspension has a movement radius of 12° in both directions. This means the pivot point of the attachment moves to the tractor’s natural pivot point and the attachment runs with much more directional stability in combination with a tracking system. If there is an obstacle on the field dragging the attachment on the side, the attachment can swerve around it without the tracked tractor leaving the track. The Fendt 1100 Vario MT also comes into its own on run-outs with a number of bends or irregular field boundaries, with the pivoting swinging drawbar and pivoting rear power lift. The contour is followed with full care and precision, even with large attachments in tow. The pivoting swinging drawbar and pivoting rear power lift mean less effort is required for steering and there is far less wear. Overall, fuel consumption is reduced, tilling is faster and teams work together with greater efficiency and precision.
VarioGuide automated steering system available
As with wheel tractors, the Fendt VarioGuide tracking system is now also available for the Fendt 1100 Vario MT series. Depending on the guidance system and correction services, the tractor can work to an accuracy of 20 cm to 2 cm with VarioGuide. Customers can choose between the Trimble receiver and the new generation of NovAtel receiver. The NovAtel can also receive signals from Chinese Beidou satellites, bringing its potential total to about 30 satellites. This reduces signal failures. In addition to the familiar correction services, the Trimble receiver supports other services such as RangePoint RTX™ and CenterPoint RTX™, to bridge signal failures of up to 20 minutes.
The Fendt way to work
So the driver can get the best performance from the machine, the driver’s workstation must be ergonomic, clear and easy to use. That’s why the Fendt 1100 Vario MT has been fitted with the trusted cab from the Fendt 900 Vario MT. This spacious Fendt cab offers plenty of room and provides excellent visibility and ease-of-use in classic Fendt fashion. Machine parameters are easy to control and monitor on the Varioterminal 10.4″ with large touchscreen. Machine operation is quick and ergonomic with the familiar Fendt multifunction armrest and built-in Fendt multifunction joystick.
