About New Holland
The original New Holland company was founded in 1895 in Pennsylvania and it soon grew after producing an automatic baler and then moving into combine harvesters and grassland machinery. Owned by the Sperry Rand Corporation from 1947 the Belgian combine maker Claeys was taken over in 1964 giving a broader European base for the firm and its first major entry into combine production. New Holland was taken over by Ford in 1986 and then by Fiat in 1991, the New Holland name thereafter appearing on tractors derived from the Fiat and Ford product range. New Holland now operates in may countries around the world.
